Election Day: Voting Safely

For the last couple of weeks, news on the upcoming election has been dominating our news feeds. With just over a week before the election, voter turnout has been high. Many people have already mailed in their ballots and have elected to vote early.

Participating in the American democracy is an honor and incredibly important. It is an opportunity for everyone to have their voices heard and help create a country that best reflects them. With election day getting closer each day, we’re giving you some tips to help you vote safely.

Vote by Mail & Vote Early

Voting by mail and voting early are likely the safest options this year. Voting early will present the lowest risk option since you don’t have to physically go anywhere. The most human interaction you may come across is if you have to go to an in-person drop-off location.

Voting early is also another option for voters. While this option isn’t as low risk as voting absentee, it does allow you to avoid the huge crowds that accompany voting on election day. By voting early, you have the ability to pick from multiple days and find a time that works best for you. Something important to remember for this year is that there has been historic voter turnout for early voting so you may face a wait time when you go to cast your ballot.

In-Person Voting: Proper Precautions

Taking care of your health and keeping yourself safe while voting is important. When you vote in-person, whether it is early or on election day, take the proper precautions. Be sure to bring hand sanitizer, wear a mask, and socially distance as much as possible. Also, if you’re feeling unwell, stay home!

Make A Plan

It has always been pertinent that people develop a voting plan early but more so this year. Whether you’re voting absentee, early, or on election day make sure you have all important information like your voting location and times to vote.
